SHORE REGION






         The Shore Region is more than just 90 miles of white-sand beaches. There is more to do than enjoying the Atlantic
         Ocean, surfing, and relaxing on the beach. The region is rich with farm markets featuring Jersey Fresh produce and
         seafood, fresh and saltwater fishing, boating opportunities, birding, and lighthouses to explore. Add some excitement
         to your camping trip with a visit to Six Flags Great Adventure or to Jenkinson’s Boardwalk.



         ADVENTURES




         Jenkinson’s Aquarium – Point Pleasant - Enjoy exhibits such as Atlantic
         sharks, Pacific sharks, coral reefs, African penguins, alligators and Atlantic
         and Pacific harbor seals which give you the opportunity to get up close
         to animals from around the globe. In addition to the educational exhibits,
         the aquarium offers programs for children of all ages. Open year round.

         Seaside Heights – So much fun can be had at this seaside resort town

         Lighthouses  - On the northern fringe of the Gateway National
         Recreation Area at Sandy Hook stands the nation’s oldest operating
         beacon, the Sandy Hook Lighthouse. Several miles to the south are the
         Twin Lights of Navesink. Further south is Barnegat Lighthouse and the
         reconstructed Tuckers Island Lighthouse in the Tuckerton Seaport.

         Get Outdoors – If you are ready to explore more in the region then the
         beach there are a variety of locations you can hike, bike, fish, or kayak.
         Here are a few, Turkey Swamp (see their ad on page 52), Island Beach
         State Park, Barnegat National Wildlife Refuge, Allaire State Park, and
         Lebanon State Forest.
