2023 NJ Campcation Photo Contest
CONTEST RULES, SUBMISSION FORM, AND MODEL RELEASE FORM
Calling for submissions from amateur photographers.
Pomona, New Jersey -- August 8, 2023 -- New Jersey Campground Owners & Outdoor Lodging Association (NJCOA) is calling for photo submissions to its 2023 New Jersey Campcation Photo Contest. Campers are invited to take photos of their 2023 New Jersey camping experience and submit the photos and contest forms to NJCOA by October 31, 2023.
The photo contest committee will award one participating photographer a prize package of two free nights of camping at a New Jersey campground.
NJCOA Executive Director Joann DelVescio said the association enjoys hosting the NJ Campcation Photo Contest because it adds a touch of realism to photos that can sometimes seem too staged in professional photos shoots. "I think when you see a photo or selfie of a real family or friends enjoying their camping and adventures in New Jersey, you can almost see yourself doing the same thing," DelVescio said.
The contest was started in 2020 as a means to excite campers about their New Jersey campcations and to show others what camping means to them through the lens of their camera. DelVescio mentioned that most of the photos they receive are of smiling families and children. "It is always hard for the photo contest committee to choose the 'best of the best,' especially when it comes to those precious photos of children having the time of their lives. But we're grateful to everyone who shares their vacation memories with us."
Photos will be used in NJCOA's marketing programs, including the vacation guide, website, flyers, show banners, and other materials, enticing people to camp at the unique campgrounds that are spread throughout the state. Campgrounds in New Jersey offer plenty of room for vacationers to spread out and enjoy their "campcation" in the great outdoors along with events that will entertain the whole family. Kids can easily explore the campgrounds on foot or bike or head to the sports courts all while remaining close to their campsite. For those who do not own an RV, they can easily rent a camper or rent a unique outdoor lodging accommodation available at most New Jersey campgrounds. New Jersey campgrounds offer tepees, tree houses, retro campers, A-frames, cabins (rustic to deluxe), yurts, or safari tents. Some rental options include individual bedrooms, kitchenettes, bathrooms, and other modern amenities like TV's, air conditioning, or gas fireplaces.
For in-staters, traveling in your RV (or renting an RV) is a great way to see the attractions throughout New Jersey while staying close to home. But out-of-staters can be equally charmed by our attractions and activities. New Jersey is popular for beaches and boardwalks along the Jersey shore when camping in a variety of regions. If you want to hit the water, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, or looking for hiking or biking trails New Jersey is the spot for you. All these activities can be found throughout the state. If your bucket list includes hiking the Appalachian Trail, visit the Skylands Region to hike a portion of the trail. New Jersey towns offer unique shopping experiences and many areas have a nice selection of outlet malls. "Jersey Fresh" produce can be found all over the state at the many farm stands or farmers markets. Jersey offers some of the best produce, perfect for cooking over the campfire. There are a considerable number of historic sites, from early American to WWII, to see all through the state along with an array of lighthouses that line the coast.
No road trip would be complete without food and New Jersey offers some of the best restaurants. Just ask your New Jersey campground host where the best restaurants are, and you will not be disappointed with the vast selection of eateries. New Jersey wineries and breweries that are scattered throughout the state and are a must visit.
The photo contest rules are simple. Your photograph must be taken in a New Jersey campground during 2023 and you must be an amateur photographer.
